History

The Company in humble beginnings began operations in 1978 in a house trailer at St. Andrews Airport, Manitoba, Canada, thirty miles due north of the Capitol City Winnipeg. The primary focus of the corporation at that time was international aircraft sales and fixed base maintenance and support services. By 1982, the company had evolved into a significant, national aircraft service and support operation at the Winnipeg International Airport. In addition, it had grown to include parts sourcing, distribution, and flight line aircraft service and support operations. In 1984, the company moved to Calgary, Alberta, and over the following six years to 1989, operations expanded to include heavy jet and business aircraft parts and component support, including major international airline support in twenty seven countries.

In 1990, the company began a total restructuring and growth period that lasted a decade, ultimately producing a series of airborne products and services to support the international helicopter, military and civilian aerospace industries. Those early products included fuel shut off systems for the venerable DC-3 and advanced aerospace composite manufacturing of helicopter fire fighting tanker systems.

Twelve years later in 2003, Tower Aerospace has evolved and advanced into a recognized international establishment that provides parts sourcing and support, design engineering, product development, product testing, and flight testing. We can take a product or idea, build it from concept to flying prototype stage, and on to certification.

Tower Aerospace also designs and manufactures specialized products in support of the helicopter industry. Specifically, they are: helicopter-mounted fire fighting tanker delivery systems, as well as externally and internally mounted fuel systems to provide auxiliary fuel in support of extended flight operations. The design team at Tower have been carrying out these functions for the last sixteen years.
